If
you stop and look around with an open heart it's easy to see all
the lost, hurt and lonely people in this world. Each and every one
of us has something we are going through and something to give as
an encouragement to others. Even in our trials we can be a blessing
to someone else. Look around you, do you see them? Are you working
with someone who is lost, struggling and stumbling in the darkness?
Are you? God puts people in your path daily, intentionally, to see
if you will reach out and light the world with His love. How do
others see you in the midst of their pain? Is your light burning
brightly or flickering in the wind?
As
a Christian our mission is clear
We are to reach out and be
the light and love of Jesus to all that cross our paths. We are
to make the darkness a little less consuming; help it fade into
light and hope. Every word you speak, every action you take is planting
a seed for someone else in the presence of God. Are you planting
good seeds? Speaking a kind word or lending a helping hand can bless
you for all eternity, but what is the cost when you do nothing?
God gives us the opportunity to help others and others the opportunity
to help us. As we help each other we are passing the flame and lighting
the world for Christ.
Again
you may ask, how do you become someone else's light when you yourself
are but a flickering flame struggling to stay lit? All you need
to do is Trust in HIM
Lean on HIM, Believe in HIM as faith
is knowing that HE will. To walk in the light you must step out
of the darkness and believe God has passed you the torch. No matter
how dark it may seem God is there to light your path.
"You
are my lamp O Lord; the Lord turns my darkness into light."(2
Samuel 22:29)
"I
can do all things through Him who gives me strength" (Phil
4:13).
"If
we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship
with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son purifies us from
all sin. (1 John 1:7)
"You
are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither
do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl, instead they put
it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In
the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see
your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." (Matthew
5:14-16)
This Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Savior and the light
of the world, lets keep the flame burning brightly. Pass the torch
of life, love and hope to as many people as God puts in your path.
Remember as your out there searching for that perfect gift the one
thing everyone needs can't be purchased in a department store. This
holiday season as the song says
take your candle and go light
the world.
