Jennifer
and I met on January 19, 1997 in Ithaca, NY at the Church of the
Nazarene. We didn't really know each other that well until one week
in March of '97 when her Grandfather committed suicide. The church
people all gathered around us the Sunday following and hugged and
prayed with us and when Jennifer hugged me, it was like instant
attraction and I knew she was the one I was going to marry.
However, for Jennifer and I to be together, I knew it would take
a movement of God because she is 6 years younger than I and when
we met I was 23 and she had just turned 17. So I spent the next
few months getting to know Jennifer better and praying that if she
was the one to be my wife that God would work out all the details
and He did! We began dating shortly thereafter. Most of our dates
consisted of talking on the phone, but that was the best thing that
could have happened because it forced us to get to know each other,
to find out each others dreams and hopes for the future.
We were married in June of '99 and have two wonderful children named
Elijah (7) and Arianna (4), with another on the way. God has blessed
us greatly over the last eight years and never ceases to amaze us.
I became the Pastor of Wellsboro Free Methodist in October of 2003,
and it was totally a God thing. I came here to just fill in for
a few weeks, to get my feet wet because I had never preached before,
but had felt God leading me in that direction for several years.
During my time as the Pastor here we have seen many ups and some
downs, but what I have learned is God is always faithful, He is
always there to hold me up and give me strength when I need it.
I look forward to the future here and to what God has in store for
our church.
God
bless you!
John
